Choosing

Which mask?

Can I sleep in it?

Only Sleep — no cord, and it switches itself off after 20 minutes. Sleeping in a corded mask is not recommended, so for Full Face and Eyes Open the timer switches them off for you.

Which one is for sinus pressure?

Eyes Open. It heats a 4 × 11-inch area temple to temple with moist heat, and the eye openings let you keep your eyes open. Full Face covers a similar area without the openings.

Which one is for dry eyes, styes or screen fatigue?

Sleep, the cordless one. Steady warmth directly over the eyes and the oil glands behind them, three levels, and nothing to plug in.

Heat or cold for migraines?

It depends on you. Many buyers use the corded masks for sinus-type headaches and tension around the temples. If your migraines respond to cold rather than heat, these are not the right product, and we'd rather say so now.

Does it help TMJ or jaw pain?

The heating element in the corded masks covers the face and temples; it does not reach the jaw joint. We don't recommend them for TMJ.

Using

Heat, fit and care

How warm does it get?

All three have three heat levels. The cordless mask runs 104–146°F. The corded masks reach temperature in 3–5 minutes. Start on low for your first few sessions; most people settle on low or medium.

Is it safe for my eyes?

Keep to low heat and 10–15 minute sessions to begin with. If you have an eye condition, are pregnant, or have diabetes, circulation or skin issues, check with your doctor before using heat therapy. Stop if you feel any irritation.

Does it work over glasses?

No — the warmth needs contact with the skin, so take glasses off. Eyes Open has cut-outs so you can still see the room.

Will it fit me?

All three are one size with adjustable hook-and-loop straps. The cordless mask has a wide 3.5-inch band. If you have a smaller head, Eyes Open has the most contoured fit; Full Face is the roomiest.

How long does the cordless battery last?

A full charge gives over two hours of warmth — four to six 20-minute sessions. Charging takes about two hours over USB. Each session is 20 minutes; press again to restart.

How do I wash it?

Cordless: unzip the cover and remove the heating pad; wash the cover only. Full Face: hand wash. Eyes Open: machine or hand wash. Always make sure the DC port is completely dry before use.

There's a smell out of the box.

New heating fabric can carry a faint factory odour. Air it in a ventilated room for 24 hours before first use — it fades quickly.

Are the corded masks portable?

They run from the included 12V adapter with a 9.5-foot cord. They will not run from a power bank. For travel, the cordless mask is the one.
